About Jacqueline LaBelle-Young
I am an artist and art teacher based in Hamden CT. I am naturally more of a draftswoman than a painter, but I love to do both. My charcoal work is more graphic; my paintings focus more on the forms and value of the composition. I struggle a bit with color, but through perseverance- and the help of a few local art instructors- I am becoming more comfortable with it. When the mood strikes me, I like to take my paintings into a bit more of the abstract realm, with paintings such as Medici Forest. For illustration, I like the precision and flexibility of watercolor and pen &ink.
